      Would this plane have been shot down if the US didn’t attack earlier? Of course not. Innocent lives lost in direct relation to Trump’s actions. Don’t get me wrong, this is Iranian leadership’s doing... but the two incidents are 100% connected.

      that's a bit of a wank mate. Trump is an idiot who escalated the situation, that does not absolve Iran for launching a missile at a commercial flight. Iran and Iran alone is responsible for shooting the plan down.

      This would not have happened if Trump hadn’t attacked Soleimani. Whether it be heightened tension due to threat of US attack or wanting to place blame on the US for this... every action has a reaction.

      Iran already reacted by launching rockets directly into Iraq. You're right, every action has a reaction...but let's not let our mutual dislike of Trump absolve these hacks from their actions.

          Additional thinking - why would an Iranian weapons system target a plane so deep in Iranian airspace? It took down a plane so quickly after take off. Huge breakdown between IRG and civil aviation authorities.
