Watch Bernie Sanders talking about how he's "not going to be niggardly with daycare funding." I would have said stingy. Miserly. Tight.pic.twitter.com/SBDCmVOq30

This post is NOT misleading. Where did I say it was derived from a racial slur? I merely said it SOUNDS like the racial slur and as such should not be used. Don't pretend he hasn't used the slur in any way in his life. Its in black and white, Andrew.

He should have been more inclusive and used the word pinche.

What a surprise a white man doesn’t understand the optics of using that word when there are literally hundreds of others he could have chose from. Id be offended if I was in the audience; especially if I had my daughter with me & she had to hear that

Hi Andrew, Defending using the word is ALWAYS a bad look. You're defending someone saying a word that is so close to an offensive word. Go find yourself a group of AA and ask them all if they're cool with it, say it loud and proud and my dude, since you're keen to defend it

Everyone KNOWS the two words are not etymologically related. But they're homonyms, and there's no sound reason to choose to use that word when the English language is teeming with other word choices.

So you'd feel comfortable using this word in front of a group of AA or POC individuals? In the workplace? In public? In mixed company? How about "colored," while we're at it? It's not strictly speaking a *slur,* either.
