No moral. Just sharing my experience and frustration that AA could have easily given me an offer for the $275 I needed to spend, not an outrageous and unsubstantiated price of $1875. Would’ve saved me from taking this horrible trip.

My frustrations with American are with their ever-changing status rules. I was short by $275... let me pay the $275 (like they used to allow) and none of this would have happened Telling me they wanted $1875 made no sense at all!

Ok fair but as long as we're clear you ended up on Mexican prison because of your choices and not because of AA changing status rules... In the end, you knew the deal before you went. I can't believe I'm defending an airline.
