      Dear @AmericanAir, After arriving back to LA from Indonesia, I was $275 EQDs under (yet 25K miles over) from maintaining status. You asked me to pay $1875 (?!) to keep status, so instead I booked a $400 rt ticket to Mexico for 24 hrs. Here’s how my fucking night went...

      Said in jest. Also, they could have offered the status for the $275 I was short instead of a whopping $1875, which they pulled out of their asses.

      I’m with @andrewkimmel on this one. The whole reason they instituted the EQD is to get more money. So, rather than $275 straight out they would rather you get on a plane for a few dollars more (which costs them money). The whole buy up offer idea is a mess.
