I know many revere McCain but he did say US would leave Iraq better than we found it. Not so much 
This was Iraq last night. Police fired live ammo into a crowd of thousands who were protesting high unemployment, poor services and corruption. At least 20 civilians were killed. It has been 16 years since America brought “democracy” to the country.pic.twitter.com/2vX10ZbN63

Life in Afghanistan and Iraq had its problems for sure. But looking back to pre-911, it must have seemed comparable to Europeans arriving in the New World. The Americans came, and now the infrastructure and institutions are turned to rubble.

Democracy isn’t profitable anymore in Iraq or Afghanistan. Minimal “kickbacks” or campaign contributions. Just our men and women getting caught holding the IED. Washington doesn’t care amdnits obvious.
