Comments that include both hate speech & violent language show an increase of 25% over the same period. Hate speech is present in 1 out of every 15 comments, which is more than the comments on the Daily Stormer, an openly neo-Nazi site.

Users celebrate violence... Former users report that exposure to language, memes, & videos on the site desensitized them to hateful language/bloodshed, even offline. Attacks by individuals w/ extreme ideologies similar to those featured prominently on 4chan are rising in the U.S.

In the last 5 years, terrorist attacks by far-right attackers has nearly tripled. And perpetrators of recent far-right terrorist attacks in Christchurch, NZ, & Poway, CA, posted about their plans on 8chan, a more vitriolic offshoot of 4chan, where other users encouraged them.
