The center only has so many oranges for those that come through. Only one half of an orange per person. Kids are coming up and asking for more and I have to tell them, “lo siento.” The look on their faces has me broken.

Handing out oranges to people who were sent back to Mexico from the US. Every single man, woman, & child I handed an orange slice to said, “Gracias.” If a child didn’t say it, their parents would tell them to. These are not criminals. These are not animals. I don't understand where all the churches are...used to, the churches would organize to help struggling people, no matter their religion or race or status. Is this happening and we just haven't heard about it?
