I’m not sure when they can initiate the LPS exactly but definitely happens after the first 72 hrs. That’s the first threshold u want to meet. That they keep her for at least that long. And do what you have to do. The hospitals lie and threaten so we must sometimes too.

They would throw her on the street if they knew she had no family. It has happened once before when we refused calls from a hospital.

Ask if there is a way to appeal that decision to discharge. Usually there is a government agency to contact when you have a dispute
