I'm at a point now where if someone tells me they work in mental health I say "Thank you for your service." I urge you all to do the same. Mental health professionals deserve all the respect in the world and certainly a larger paycheck for their tireless/thankless work.

Would you please let me know if you have any luck? I have tried several times and failed utterly. I also find MI professionals seem hesitant to help with his process, like there’s a terrible fear of taking away someone’s autonomy.

That and the MI person can “rally” and seem functional. Meanwhile the apartment you rented for them is now evil or contaminated because someone looked at them wrong or because they think a neighbor has it in for the so they self-homeless and threaten to burn your house down etc
