Andrew, I'm a Master's level counselor licensed in AZ. Just read these laws bc I'm working on getting licensed in CA. There are 2 paths to evaluation: police (which you've tried) and a direct petition to whatever person or agency is responsible for petitions in your county.

Really glad to hear. Sorry it's a rough night for you & your mom, system is very flawed everywhere. I've dealt with it in having to persuade clients to self-admit for danger to self, & for danger to others. It's really to tough to get involuntary hold (& it probably should be...
...but not like it is.) Should be easier to protect lives. Evaluations w high bar are good, but they need to be more rapidly accessible. This is the same system that is supposed to stop potential shooters according to gun rights groups, after all.
