I’ve just had to call the police on my sister now more times than I can count on my hands. She has been off meds for at least 8 months and every day off of them her brain continues to deteriorate. She threatened my mom and me. The police came and refused to take her to a hospital

I understand. My mother is mentally ill and although she makes over $3K a month, she is homeless. She never says she wants to hurt herself or others so they leave her alone-to rot essentially. She nearly destroyed my house and desperately needs medication that she refuses to take

I am sorry to hear that. It shows our country's true colors.

having shelter is generally not a factor in being gravely disabled. Based on your description she should definitely be 5150d. Do you know any psychiatrists or licensed psychologists you can contact directly for assistance?

Very sad. I’m sorry to read this after reading about your father recently

I understand your dilemma, and have been in your mother's shoes with my own daughter. My sons and I experienced her fits of rage for over a decade. She blames us, tweets and FB's horrible lies about our family, and the mental health practitioners she has seen do nothing to help.

How does homelessness determine whether or not a person has a disability? Why is there so much red tape?
