You say you “had to pay”. Big deal! So did i - about double vs last year. BUT thats only because withholding deductions went down on 1/1/18. Actual TAX RATE and TOTAL TAX PAID went down considerably vs prior year. Look at detail vs what you get back or have to pay when u file. $
