Today's house committee hearing on the rise of white nationalism & domestic extremism has opened my eyes to how inept our government is to seriously dealing w/ this problem. There are powerful voices on the left, but unfortunately none on the right (at today's hearing at least).
The GOP's decision to bring propagandists to discuss the threat of domestic extremism vs experts says it all. As Dr. Abu-Salha said today, we are on a dark road. The both-siderims of the GOP & their panel takes away from the real threat of white nationalism/extremism in the US.
With this current president and a GOP that is willing to follow him no matter how dark or undemocratic or unconstitutional or unAmerican he gets... I fear for our republic. We are slipping ever faster into a neo-fascist era of American history.
