This video was just released of Travis VanDeWiele, a white correctional officer, who pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct from the incident in 2016. He had been on paid administrative leave for the last 2 years. The suspect assaulted is Terrell James Johnson, then 24.pic.twitter.com/EbDyYoEAUU
The officer's attorney wrote that prosecutors didn't produce evidence that the officer “used unreasonable force to gain the compliance of an uncooperative inmate.” The newly elected sheriff, Bob Fletcher, moved to release the video following an internal affairs investigation.
Every officer in that video should b stripped of their badge and jailed!!

If a rabid DOG THAT WAS ATTEMPTING TO BITE HIS CAPTOR WAS KNEED AND PUNCHED LIKE THIS HUMAN, the captor would be charged with animal cruelty! Think about that!

Wow no matter what this guys says, this officer shouldn’t be hitting him. You must control your anger. He should be fired.
totally agree!! what happened to learning discipline in the academy/ prior to becoming a cop?!
Looks like assaulting a restrained person to me. Why should he get a paid vacation? To determine the fairness of the outcome, one must ask “if this victim chained a cop to a chair and assaulted him the same way, would he also get a two year paid vacation and disorderly?”
