I think it's perfectly okay to mock + ridicule a large corp for bad security practice. But I've seen a number of tweets attacking employees. That's not okay. Please don't do that.

It's true that the company is wrong, and in fact there is no way to train someone how to explain things that have no explanation. But it's also true that when you take a job, you are responsible for what you do on that job. There's no "I was only following orders" defense.

Oh, in case of people pointing out security concerns to social media representatives, there is a straightforward playbook: "Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I have forwarded your concerns to the responsible department. I'll follow up with their feedback soon."
