Very nice overview, not just of the IcoBoard, but also the open source software and toolchain available for it.https://twitter.com/OpenTechLabChan/status/950110821027328000 …

Now this is where it would be useful to have serial I/O up and running. But the FTDI disappears from the USB bus as soon as the CPU boots up.

Good to see RISC-V and the likes of it are getting easier for mainstream use~
-
I'm not exactly mainstream yet, but yeah, smooth sailing so far!
-
Well at least nobody have to suffer with proprietary drivers and tools or having to do some weird voodoo rituals to get it working ;)

Which RISC-V implementation did you use? Synthesized with Yosys? I've got a BlackIce II board, what would I need to do to get this runnin on it?
-
PicoRV32, which is part of icosoc. Compiled using yosys and the icestorm tools. Generally speaking, those should be a good starting point for you.

Do you have a particular application in mind? What are your plans for it?
-
Hopefully run MirageOS on top of all that. Proof of concept for a fully controlled, much more secure computing environment.
-
Nice. This sounds super exciting!
