I'm a hacker, pretty much in the old school sense of the word. But I do know IT security too.

For what it is worth, DEF CON CFP has already received a number of 'blue' talks. The content is out there for sure.https://twitter.com/andreasdotorg/status/964579146864185346 …

No really. I'm starting to think #DefensiveCon needs to be a thing. Blue team is shy of their assets. Time to represent. #OffensiveCon

As a blue reamer, these talks are important and I'm happy to see them submitted. As a con volunteer, I have to as whether DEF CON is an infosec conference or a hacker con.

We factor that in. Some blue talks seem like good material, but are not selected because they aren't in the spirit of DC.

One of my colleagues just presented here: https://artintoscience.com  Said it was one of the better cons he'd been to.

Jericho is right, we do focus more on the hacker talks than the infosec(y) ones at Defcon. What I would love to see (and I wish I had the time to do) is a "Blue Team Village" type of thing at Defcon. That's one that would be super popular and useful.

I support this idea. At our internal company conference "BlueHat", we have a defenders' day that's focused on blue team stuff. It's incredibly well-received.

Well, if you know of anyone interested in doing a blue team type of village at defcon, let me know.

This is a great idea! I would definitely be glad to help and contribute, and I can think of a few others from my #BlueTeam who would as well.
