Pointers to good recipes appreciated. (I can google myself, but I have a hard time deciding what is authentic and what isn't).

Here's a link, but it's in my native language, Malay. I can translate it for you if you'd like 😁 http://www.aziekitchen.com/2015/09/rendang-ayam-mudah-dan-sedap.html?m=1 … It's fairly straightforward if you have the ingredients available.pic.twitter.com/zpKlYHAqmv

Ok, some ingredients are tricky. Kerisik I can probably make myself. Asam Keping is hopeless, can I substitute tamarind? Buah Keras, mayba cashews instead? Turmeric leaves - I'm glad I can get the roots, is there a substitute?

Tamarind can work as a subtitute I guess. Buah keras is nutmeg, you don't have those readily available? Tumeric leaves are optional, i mean it adds more aroma but you don't really eat them 🤔

Well, the dictionary said buah pala is nutmeg, and buah keras is candlenut... And I have no idea what candlenut even is.

My mistake, buah keras is indeed candlenut. It serves to thicken sauces/broths. Guess you could substitute with macadamia nuts according to the net 😁
