one could ask the same for almost any language... take the other extreme php.... i bet their is almost as many vuls as lines written in that thing.... and yet it still usefullish....

-
Yup, and there's still a Wordpress vuln every other week.
-
thats why i say its not the tool that is the problem. skill, knowledge, training/practice, planning, time. when one of does fail bugs are prob going to show... we make mistakes its how they are handled that matters.
-
Fucking language should handle them gracefully. Programmers are human. Humans make mistakes. No amount of training will ever prevent this.
-
yep and who builds them? im trying not to go on lang x mainly because i like c, but.... i also like speed and when i buy something with 16gb of mem i expecting to have 80% of that for my stuff....
-
"Sure it's vulnerable, but look how fast it is!" No seriously, have a look at Rust. Speed, memory efficiency and safety do not contradict each other.
-
i will :)

People make mistakes not programming languages!

Imho things will stay the same as long as the answer to this question is yes: is it still cost-efficient to develop software in C? Bugs are too cheap and have no real consequences. Everybody just shrugs, patches. Rinse & repeate.

@der_ak C-developer's answer: "yes, they were just not disciplined enough". Everyone else: "of course it's not possible".Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Fun fact: in some PCI-DSS documents, using a language that doesn't allow certain classes of vulnerabilities is called "an extreme measure".
