quickest? dd if=/dev/zero of=<yer disk> bs=1k it'll write zeroes over the disk. You can do /dev/urandom instead but its slower.
Friend of mine works in data recovery, restored disks from the Twin Towers. Writing zeros once is sufficient on modern disks.
