I had to google that one, but after the blind irrational hate I got this morning for daring to criticize an argument, I can empathize with that statement. Just because a goal is perceived as noble does not liberate oneself from behaving decently.

"Your goal is noble, but your means are wrong" is a basis for a rational discussion. "You only pretend to have a noble goal, your actual hidden agenda is destruction" is not.

Even stranger: Stallman writes a communication guideline that prohibits advocating for "non-free" software, and the "leave politics out of my software" crowd praise RMS wisdom... Actually not strange because they never were against COCs for censorship reasons... But still.
