That's a 3-pin device. SPI requires 4 pins (clock, chip select, master out/MOSI, slave in/MISO), plus power and ground. So a 6-pin SDIP, or evan a BGA, which would be really difficult to probe.
You're looking at it from the side, in another picture you clearly see six pins.
And even that picture might be illustrative and not of the real device.
