I was heartbroken to hear that artist, musician, and writer Tom Moody passed away this weekend from Covid complications. He was the first show at And/Or Gallery in 2006, and we exhibited and sold editions of his blog posts and GIFs, 8 years before the first NFT was created...

tom moody was an amazing person i met very early on through a website i started, dump.fm, which he was an early and revolutionary user of, tom and i would meet up stroll through nyc, talking synths and art.. warm person who would stand up for me continually.

his art was in the true spirt of the best of the internet.. experimental, honest, fun, irreverent, communal, unpretentious and crafted with common mans tools like mspaint. i have a lot of love for the guy and i think it was mutual. lets make sure his blog is archived please.

I alerted Rhizome about his 2 blogs and they're working on it. I'm planning to buy all of his available music that I don't already have and archive it. Nasty Nets is already archived and I think most of the rest of his content is/was on Computers Club and dump.fm

The Digital Media Tree blog should be safe for now. I think the one at potential risk is the newer one, and I pointed that out to Rhizome. I'm also going to try to communicate with whoever is running the estate to let them know it's important to keep paying the internet bills.
