I found this one very interesting, from a point of view that I have never seen before (and very different from what you normally do). How do you guys manage to master such a wide range of topics?

Being curious really helps. You pick up a lot of different topics, and eventually - if you are lucky - you see links between them. But even before that it is a great way of learning by just getting interested in some random question and pursuing anything related to it.
