Well, those processes were mostly peaceful but people died in Vilnius, Prague, Moscow and (lots) in Romania.

That's one thing I believe the Bolsheviks were right about. Any change in power usually requires some violence. Sadly

I think these are different situations. A revolution comes when economy is bad and opposition opressed. Not the case here.

Maidan didn't start because of the economy. It started as an issue of west and east. Opposition might be oppressed in the US very soon.
