The English don't reject collaboration with equals which may be why the English/British identity can be difficult for us.

True, even more so in Sweden. The UK made a huge sacrifice in WWII though, which is in living memory.

Considering what I read from the continent most would be pleased to just say Good Bye. But the U.K. wants a new agreement in place.
