@andersostlund
But he UK isn't in the Euro & therefore doesn't require political/banking union
Or will we be forced to join?
-

-
@BartsPete The UK has not been forced to do anything but instead put breaks on many EU projects. -
@andersostlund EU looking for ever closer monetary union (look at Tusks statement last night) We are not in Euro & don't want that Do you? -
@BartsPete I am for the Euro. I am also for the EU parliament becoming the ruler of EU on behalf of the people. -
@andersostlund Fx rates are key to international trade As economies gain success their export goods become more expensive & vise versa -
@BartsPete That is just bollocks. If that was correct the US dollar would not be used outside the US. -
@andersostlund The US dollar is a stable peg It's used to give certainty, but countries have to buy it to use it

@andersostlund with their Maastricht opt-outs they already have "special status". They don't accept that euro is currency of EU. -
@we_pf Exactly. That is bad enough. Same with Sweden and Denmark. These special deals just a sign of arrogance. -
@andersostlund Wouldn't call it arrogance. Much more complex, I'd say. Just imagine current crisis w/o Euro - and with D-Mark! -
@we_pf Problem is people confuse the reasons for having a currency. Local currencies just weapon of government to steal from people. -
@andersostlund currencies are there to enable trade. In free trade area you need common currency. D-mark was not an option.

@andersostlund British people: "You damn mainlanders! You think you're so good with that ridiculous "socialist" crap. Rule Britannia!" -
@Mitch_NAU Britannia can rule her waves on her own. That is fine with me. -
@andersostlund damn straight. As an Australian I know all about the British talking a big game and then not backing it (defending Oz in WW2)

@andersostlund A good solution which would seem discriminate is one in to a job, so if 100 migrants came they must have a jobs cruel & kind -
@Malcy43 I see no problems in tougher conditions for immigrants but same rules should apply to citizens. Handouts bad for everybody. -
@andersostlund Yes you are right and I can assure you there's plenty of Brit spongers but no excuse there family are Brits born and bred
