Anybody brave enough to make predictions about the ruble's behaviour tomorrow when Moscow is back from holidays?
@magutw My question too. How much is Putin willing to pay to save face? A lot I think.

@andersostlund my take: the devaluation will take several steps: after the 62-65 range, may be slowed at 65-75 for a while and then let free -
@magutw I agree. They will let ruble slide but try to control the slide. That plan will cost a lot though. Reserves are shrinking fast.

@andersostlund@magutw According to Putin, Russia's getting richer with weaker RUB :\ He'll keep pocketing extra RUB from exporters. -
@yazzno@andersostlund several exporters need to pay their $ credits in Jan (= need to buy $$$), CBR will keep RUB stronger till they buy $

@andersostlund I think the 62-65 will be abandoned the next week, but possibly still slowed down till the end of Jan.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
