So apparently your voice can be copyright claimed on YouTube. I was testing my mic filters on a private stream and after I was done it got claimed by CD Baby.

It’s YouTube’s policy that is wrong tho. People make content, and then it’s falsely claimed by someone else. The abuser can just keep claiming it’s theirs until the only course of action is for the creator to take the disputer to court.
-
And on top of that, after 3 failed claims, you get a strike which can effect your ability to live stream and use other YouTube functions. The policy is backwards as hell.

No, YouTube enables the copyright troll and doesn't care because they still get their cut. This has been going on for a long time. So many creators are leaving YT because of demonetization.

No, it's absolutely YouTube you want to go after. It's an automated process, as soon as CD Baby was notified it was lifted. YouTube's words, not mine. YouTube's algorithm is, and will continue to be, the problem.

Youtube could find a way to solve the problem. It doesn't bother to. It would be simple enough to fine parties that make false claims like this, which would shut them down almost instantly, but they don't.

To reiterate from YouTube earlier in the thread, CDbaby didn't manually do this, it was the automated system and as soon as they saw the dispute they dropped the claim. All in all, all patties have handled it well, but it shouldn't have been an issue to begin with. Blame YouTube.
