Mad scientist. I keep chopped up bodies in my fridge. If that got a dafuq reaction, congrats, you're in the 0.01% who read it. I don't really have a fridge.

Been feeling really crappy lately (difficult to sleep with nausea and a headache and neighbours partying until 4am on top of that... and missing on sleep night after night doesn't exactly help with headaches). Worst of all, I discovered the taste of chocolate now makes me gag.

TIL: I don't have an inner monologue. While most people do?! I always thought people talking about a voice in their head was a metaphor...

Tip: highlight images missing alt text with img:not([alt])

Using img:not([alt]) to highlight images missing alt text. You can also use Lighthouse or editor plugins to detect the same.

I coded this slider 5 years ago. I was barely starting to get familiar with range inputs and updated it a bunch of times since, so it's not the worst offender. Screens: Chrome, Firefox, pre-Chromium Edge (for which the goal was simply not to be broken)

Over the past 8 years, I've created... I don't even know... thousands (more than 1/day, that's sure) demos. And now when I see old ones I often just cringe. So I decided to go back and redo some popular ones because CSS & JS got better, browsers got better and so did I.

Here's a simple (minimal computations) algorithm for detecting if a point is inside a regular convex polygon or not. You can test it yourself on : Click canvas for another random test. Results in console.

I've heard this a lot, "it's not the kids, it's the way they are taught Maths" and quite honestly, I don't buy it. I and a couple of others had the exact same Maths teachers as everyone else in the class and were taught Maths the exact same way.

Safari Tech Preview 98 now supports the clamp() function, and has better calc() support. Check it out!

The moment I saw this, my first thought was it must be doable with 1 HTML element and no JS. So here it is This also marks my 31st pure CSS loader thingie for the month. I know I've been lazy about tweeting them, but they're all on my profile.

This was a section layout idea from last summer. I kind of dig it so I'm adding some life to it! Now using the intersection observer API to animate each section as it scrolls in and out of the viewport

If someone gives me a .png, I think I just might be able to CSS* it (fair warning: performance is going to suck big time and I might have rendering surprises). All I've been able to find so far are these, which aren't quite satisfying. *I'm still useless with WebGL...

There was a front end dev who made a really cool site that I think analyzed the words and phrases of a popular book or script. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I'm trying to find the link or remember who it was, but I'm struggling. I think it was in the last few months or so.

Two more polygons on demos on : #28 fountain #29 [epi|hypo]trochoid trails - the shapes followed are randomly generated and may be pretty interesting 😼
