We’d need a different word for interactions you’re forced to have because you’re paid to do it but would otherwise just have no interest. Coworker is just fine.
"Coworker" sums up just how far we are into the hole of vulture capitalism that we reflexively accept defining relationships by what we produce in proximity not how we engage with each other.
