In America, voters pick our leaders, leaders do not pick which voices to heed and to silence. We turned out in record number, despite deliberate barriers set to silence people of color. We demanded every vote be counted, despite attempted sabotage and intimidation. 1
And we made the will of people prevail, despite the deadly attack fed and spread by lies about votes of Black, young and new Americans. Now, we must hold fast to our power to ensure no elected leader who divides and inflames can ever serve in government.
