They lost. And so they declare themselves winners and eagerly shed blood. We won. But we imbibe a narrative that democracy is an impossibility, that they’ve destroyed it beyond repair. Nah. We dealt a blow to fascism at the ballot box. Nothing we can’t do.
I have faith in our *people* who turned out in record numbers in the midst of a pandemic and deliberate barriers and then forced officials to count every vote. Our institutions failed us and, arguably, have been constructed to do so.

But institutions are just people making decisions. And with what we achieved under impossible odds, I believe we can remake those institutions to be worthy of us.

DEM populated institutions will attenuate extreme illiberal political tendencies over the ST. But concurrently, DEM constituents will relax w/ a DEM dominated Fed gov't, and/or will be distracted by personal economic concerns exiting the pandemic, then return to consumerism.
