They could not keep us from voting, despite every barrier they erected to silence Black, young and new Americans. They could not keep election officials from counting, despite their smears and their suits.
They cannot keep us from swearing in the leaders we elected. And they will not stop us from delivering #JusticeForUS by seeing every elected official who fueled right wing militants to violence removed from office. They are not fit to govern in our name.
This thread seems a bit overconfident in our democratic institutions. A more competent demagogue president, surrounded by fewer grifters & more authoritarian types, might have succeeded.
I have faith in our *people* who turned out in record numbers in the midst of a pandemic and deliberate barriers and then forced officials to count every vote. Our institutions failed us and, arguably, have been constructed to do so.
