They lost. And so they declare themselves winners and eagerly shed blood. We won. But we imbibe a narrative that democracy is an impossibility, that they’ve destroyed it beyond repair. Nah. We dealt a blow to fascism at the ballot box. Nothing we can’t do.

We are through resisting. We are embracing our power, under the guidance of Black, Indigenous and immigrant led movements. And we’re moving into governance.

They know they have lost. And they know the ruse is up: more and more people (took longer enough) see they stand for nothing but their own power, they seek nothing but total control over the many and infinite riches for the few.

Their attempts to hide this behind lies and deliberate division, behind blaming Black people, new immigrants, people struggling, or whatever new other they manufacture have long been obvious to most. More are catching on.

They could not keep us from voting, despite every barrier they erected to silence Black, young and new Americans. They could not keep election officials from counting, despite their smears and their suits.

They cannot keep us from swearing in the leaders we elected. And they will not stop us from delivering
