Pro-tip: Calling “student debt” reinforces false idea it’s rightly obligation of the learner. We don’t call mortgages “homeowner debt” nor car loans “driver debt.” Have tested it: education debt much better.

omg I have a draft tweet from like two weeks ago on this theme that I abandoned because I didn’t have an ending to it. (Another example: we call them “business loans,” not “entrepreneur loans.”) The lesson, for me, is “don’t bother, Anat will do it better.”
