LP ads were made by the Republicans who brought us to Trumpism in the first place. If you want to persuade people to be more progressive, say progressive things. 2

The "blockbuster" ad mentioned in article was among the many that not only pushed swing toward Trump, it increased racial enmity against Asians and Asian Americans. Making people blame China fed Trump's COVID narrative - not truth. 3

To clarify: article says it did not work. By "blockbuster" I only meant lefties on Twitter fawning and throwing dollars at it. 4

What about RVAT?

In our testing, those were more mixed bag. But we consistently outperformed them with ads made by actual progressives for persuasion. Further, the REAL electoral task was mobilizing high potential first time/infrequent voters. And they didn't even try - but we did!

I wish Sirota was not on byline/involved with this piece. He lost credibility during Dem primary. That said, LP made ads that appealed to Never Trumpers...people who were already not going to vote for Trump.

If The Lincoln Project ads were eye candy for Democrats, their messages resonate. I see only benefit from Republicans tearing away at Trump even if it provokes a defensive response. Beat up on Trump first and then offer forgiveness to those who made the mistake of believing him.

If they tore people from Trump - ok. They didn't and don't. It has been proven both in channel testing and now confirmed through actual voting patterns.
