If you're making ads to persuade soft Trump supporters, here's what you'd want to do: (a) target women, not men, among people still clinging, former more movable (b) uniqueness humor, surprise - most voters, swing esp. turn off obvs political ads less than 4 seconds in /1
(c) create permission architecture for person to contend with having been wrong, changing their mind. Pure attacks on Trump actually make soft supporters feel you're impugning them - they get defensive & re-entrench support. /2
Look again at most @ProjectLincoln & many @RVAT2020 ads. They're not structured to persuade soft supporters. Indeed, what works on *getable* Trumpers are progressive priorities like healthcare, fair wages, real paid care. Saying what we're for & what GOP has blocked every turn.
Let's stop handing out accolades to Frankenstein cause he suddenly got terrified of his own creation. These folks brought us Trump thru generations of dog whistling to divide us by race & place of origin, so we'd look the other way while they hand 1% the wealth our work creates.

Historically, younger people have lower voting turnout. It's always been true.
The most important thing you can do is stop targeting “soft Trump supporters” with ads and try activating the progressive base with an actual vision of a better, equitable, inclusive America.
I definitely preach at this temple. But I’m also aware that millions, including from Dem donors, are going to persuasion. So, trying to inject some critical thinking on that front.
I don’t want their votes. I want the votes of everyone who stayed home because they didn’t believe the last election mattered. I want the votes of people who were apathetic. The ones that still support Trump are too few.. and pandering to them is not worth the cost.
Amen. Agreed. But since people, including Dem donors, are throwing money at these persuasion efforts at least prefer to correct record on what works.
