Very very frustrating to see how frequently we use ourselves as the metric for what will prove persuasive to people who think completely differently from us.

I know that I, and many of the people I know, want to do better. We’re not inflexible but we don’t have enough models of... of this. We need help to access your horizons.

That’s very very kind. Not sure it’s merited. I’m trying super hard to offer whatever ideas I can in some useful way but readily admit I can always always do better.

I think that as a movement person who is primarily a visual designer that frequently creates/synthesizes/mashes-up messaging out of necessity… I feel like I'm guessing without a lot of ways to "check" the role and impact of all of this stuff I generate and release into the world

You've, so consistently and helpfully, broken down ways in which the narratives that we contribute to "from the right side of the barricade" don't always end up contributing to the sort of meaning we were aiming for. You give very excellent guidance, example concepts and samples

So, actually, you do provide very good, very accessible models that are well researched and well advised.

I think that what I and maybe many others struggle to understand is exactly what you said in your original tweet, "to see how frequently we use ourselves as the metric for what will prove persuasive." (I'm not a great writer so thanks for bearing with my clumsyness)
