Shouldn't we have a picture of a positive future?

I agree, but we also know the Republicans are really good at turning around a narrative, and Trump is one of the best at it. I just don't think we can sleep on it. And YES we need positive narratives too!
There aren’t just two sides running - there’s the team most potential voters pick: sit out. Q around what drives turnout requires understanding that underlying motivation of GOP base & ours differ. 1

Yes, anti that other side potent for both. But at margins, right more reliably motivated by fear and anger where left needs something to vote for. Canard cause true: Rep fall in line Democrats fall in love. Yes even now, esp now because of how fear breeds withdrawal in left. 2

And then there’s persuasion. Even if it’s only 5-7% of voters (I believe it’s closer to 10-12% esp in spots I’ve studied more like MI and WI) - we lost WI by less than 1%. We need EVERY vote. 3
