For sure. They always always have been. What's shifted is them (a) saying it out loud (b) outrightly including (implied) white grandparents in that mix.

Yes, you've hit it spot on. This shift is huge. On one hand, I'm kind of glad they're finally coming right out in the open with it, but at the same time, their depraved wrapping it up in "noble sacrifice" crap scares me to death. They're monsters.
