Europeans get 4 weeks paid vacation any and every single year. One week *some* Americans are not working - for reasons of life and health - and everything comes undone? Hear me out but maybe an economy so fragile it demands human sacrifice ought to refashioned completely.

So everybody in the United States military gets four weeks of paid vacation a year PLUS paid sick leave. It’s great. However the very idea that people have to put their literal lives on the line for basics is horrifying.

Europeans and their bosses pay into a vacation fund so that 1 month a year they make the equivalent of 2 months salary. We could do that if we didn’t praise and elevate capitalism over people’s health and well-being.
