If a rising tide lifted all boats, we’d all have altitude sickness. GDP going up has next to nothing to do with wellbeing of most of us. And, because much of the growth is fueled by our home’s destruction, it actually endangers us.

Anat, have you, or has anyone disaggregated GDP and sorted its zillions of parts into vital signs categories such as, broadly, “beneficial,” “neutral” and “harmful” with proper subsets within those categories? Doing that would enable us to measure healthy versus unhealthy growth.
