Biden's willingness to name a Republican VP is a declaration he considers them better at governing than any Democrat - including his career-long friends and colleagues. Why is he running for the party's nomination?

Disagree. Isn’t it just part of his message that he wants the parties to compromise & work together ?

VP is the single most important *early* choice candidate makes. Signals - this is THE individual I see fit to lead if, God forbid, worst happens. There's no Dem he sees more deserving than some "moderate" Rep?

Further, the idea of "compromise" as virtue is morally bankrupt. Either you believe in and stand for things -- like, say, not separating babies from moms -- or you don't. Voters want clear leadership, even swing ones.

Some voters want the polarization to ease. And they want someone who knows how the job of the president works. Biden does

This suggests, and reaffirms, that polarization is a "both sides" problem. And that is a very dangerous notion. When one side is actively breaking laws & inflicting harm, culprits need to be clearly defined.

Just want to say that I really appreciate this engagement. Rare and needed to disagree agreeably. :)
