Disagree. Isn’t it just part of his message that he wants the parties to compromise & work together ?
VP is the single most important *early* choice candidate makes. Signals - this is THE individual I see fit to lead if, God forbid, worst happens. There's no Dem he sees more deserving than some "moderate" Rep?

Further, the idea of "compromise" as virtue is morally bankrupt. Either you believe in and stand for things -- like, say, not separating babies from moms -- or you don't. Voters want clear leadership, even swing ones.
