As an applied social scientist, I investigate patterns (in my case, in language use to signal useful things about potential persuasion) for a living. And, I'm chagrined to say, it didn't occur to me my experience wasn't just my own bad luck. [Hangs head.]

I thought I fucked it all up bc they solicited me to begin with, not the other way around. After you went through that many rounds of edits w/ them, I can imagine you felt the same way!

They solicited one from me too! And I thought I had disappointed them with my crap ideas. But at least they didn't make me go through a ton of edits before I never heard from them again/they rejected it.
