This summer, NYT Opinion invited me to write an op-ed based on a viral thread I wrote on businesses supporting ICE. I spent 2 days writing the piece. NYT went thru a day of edits. After 3 rounds of editing, they nixed piece on messaging for immigrant rights, based on my testing that shows how centrist "tough on border" BS doesn't work and speaking explicitly about race & deliberate division/scapegoating by right does - even w/swing voters.
