On #impeachmentDebate, switch to 2nd person direct address. No more “he violated Constitution/hurt democracy/endangers nation.” Say “he betrayed you” “he endangered you” “I am protecting you.”
Being for abstractions is great; being for your audience is better.

Absolutely. It just happens that “you” has a very particular linguistic role. We *can* mean royal we, which feels less directly evocative.

Couldn't agree more. Abstraction is an artifact of one-way (as opposed to interactive) media. Street reporters and traditional talk radio interact with audiences, hear them. Shouting abstractions at a mic (Sean H, etal) can never be personal, always misses the point.
