So true. Requires so much care & forethought. But in our hesitation we are not left with absence of story and thus sense making. We have right wing versions expand to take up the void.

Absolutely. That's why in my research interviews I asked people to describe or tell a story about the "beloved community" you mentioned in your "changing the story about refugees" talk. Renewed sense making through story is needed right now.
