whose talking point is "welcoming immigrants responsibly"? "commonsense solutions" is fine w/me. Research shows we have to exit the "CRISIS!" frame - it helps oppo. My advice is "create a fair immigration process that respects all families"
Thx for article. Sigh. LOTS to say. Agree that "common sense solutions" is content-free (or content-light) phrase. On its own doesn't tip our way. But it's also (to me) not a NO!!!! like, say, "welcome responsibly" 
or bowing at altar of border security.
